Welcome to the Livonia Co-Op Preschool!

Mrs. KostikLead Teacher for the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes
Thank you for joining us! Preschool is an exciting adventure for you and your child. Your child is an amazing human being! I look forward to getting to know him/her. I know we will like each other! My job is to help your child learn and grow. I will provide many different ways for your child to discover, explore, and create. Preschool is going to be FUN!

First let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been married for 17 years and have two incredible daughters. Emily is 12 and loves to swim. Kate is 9 and is a gymnast. Between the two of them, we are busy driving them to practices and meets! Both of my girls attended this school and have so many fond memories of fun activities they did here! Most of their friends are still the friends they met here in preschool. It has been great to see so many kids “growing up” together.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from Madonna University. I taught a 3s class at the Jackson Center before subbing in Livonia and Plymouth. I taught a 1st and 2nd grade in Detroit for 5 years and it was an amazing experience. I stopped teaching full time to stay home when Emily was born. For the next three years I tutored kids in our home in reading.

Being a co-op mom prepared me for elementary school! I have been active in helping out in the girls’ classrooms and been on the board of grant Elementary PTA. Life is good, often busy, and sometimes a bit chaotic, but it always fills my grateful heart with the wonder of it all. It really is an honor for me to back at preschool teaching!

I look forward to meeting you and your child. I know that we are going to have a great year together!

To Many Happy Days,

Kristin Kostik

Mrs. Schwartz,

Welcome to Livonia Co-op Preschool parent-child class!

I am so excited to be your child’s terrific two’s teacher this year. We will have many adventures together as we learn about the world around us!

I have been married for twenty years and I am a mother of two great kids. Kevin is 16; he loves football and has made me laugh every single day of his life! My daughter Jane is 13; she loves to read, draw, has a big heart, and would rescue every dog in the state if she could! They both attended this wonderful little school. It built a fantastic bridge to learning for them and I couldn’t be more honored to share that with your child. I have degrees in social work and studied at Madonna University in Early Childhood education. I have worked with children in many settings and most recently at Jackson Center in a 4’s preschool room.

I believe there are many ways for a young child to learn. Each child is unique. Therefore, it is my role as a teacher to offer a rich and caring learning environment that all children will learn and grow in. I believe in developing a curriculum based upon age appropriate activities that are play-based that emphasize all areas of your child’s development.

We are going to have so much fun together!

See you soon!
